Health Care Costs
Health care costs are unbelievably high if you don’t have insurance. Even when you have insurance, there are times when you get that nasty bill and find out that your policy doesn’t cover a particular procedure or the doctor you used is not in your insurance’s plan.
Of course, it is your responsibility to know what is covered and how much will be covered is nearly impossible to figure either before or after. For one hospital procedure, you will have multiple providers. And you have no way to know who your other providers will be. Should you get your bill and find that some providers are not covered, call your insurance. Your insurance company can advocate for you in this matter, as you have no control over such doctors as your anesthesiologist.
Ask your hospital for a discount. Go to the hospital and ask to see the chief financial officer. The CFO has the ability to give you discounts. You could get up to a 30 percent discount. It is something most people never consider doing. The Consumer Reports National Research Center conducted a survey that found only 31 percent have ever tried negotiating on their medical bills. 93 percent of the people who tried were successful and saved about $100.
Health Insurance Compare
Always look at your bill and compare it to what your insurance should cover. If you find a discrepancy or have questions about the payment, get on the phone immediately. Set up a conference call between the insurance company, the hospital and yourself, if necessary. Be sure to document everything.

Health Questions and Medical Insurance Apps
While medical insurance applications may vary based on what company and what type of policy you are applying for, there are some standards that you will have to answer. All companies are going to want to know some basic information about you; your name, age, date of birth, and your social security number.
There will also be an area to list who all you are applying to get coverage, and their age, date of birth, and social security number. If you are just applying for yourself, you can oftentimes skip over this part of the application. You may also need to provide a medical history. This should include any surgeries you may have had, as well as any conditions you may have been diagnosed with such as asthma or diabetes.
There will also be a section to list any medications that you may be taking, what strength, and how frequently or long you have been taking them. All of this information will need to be completed for each person applying. There are two very important things to remember when completing medical insurance applications. First of all, read each section carefully before filling it out to make sure you fill in the appropriate information, or to see if you need to fill it out at all. You also need to be as honest as possible when filling them out. This is so that you can get the best care possible.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, or CTS, relates to problems in one’s wrist and hand. Some of the symptoms include pain, swelling, tingling as well as loss of strength. It happens when the median nerves and tendons that pass through the carpal tunnel in the wrist are restricted or pressed against.
Swelling is the likely reason for the pressure put on the nerves that causes the extra pain and sensations found in the fingers and palm. The symptoms of CTS include a slow onset of numbness, burning and tingling in the hand or wrist. It is most common for the thumb, index and middle fingers to experience these symptoms.

In more extreme cases the hand begins to lose strength and it becomes difficult to tightly grasp items or even to make a clenched fist. When left untreated the problem can become permanent, making the muscles in the hand and especially thumb weaken greatly over time.
