Importance of protein in your diet
Everyone has a specific diet that is the best and will lose the most inches and pounds in the shortest amount of time. But what it boils down to is that your body needs certain things to function and as long as you understand this you can eat healthy enough to burn calories and energy from the specific places that you need. Proteins are made up of amino acids. There are approximately 24 different amino acids that combined together form a protein. The proteins that we consume are broken down into the amino acids and are used in the cells throughout our body in order to function properly. Of the 25 amino acids there are specifically 8 amino acids that our body doesn’t naturally produce so they are called the essential amino acids that we must consume in order to receive those important amino acids.

If you are a sedentary person that is sitting in the office for most of the day you will not need the same amount of protein as a very active person that is exercising for a few hours every day. A low carb and high protein diets means that the body isn’t using the carbs that are taken in to get their energy. The body breaks down the protein and uses the energy from the stored fat cells throughout the body. This is how the weight loss occurs by training the body not to use the food that is consumed to get the energy but to get the needed energy from elsewhere.
The best source of protein is found in lean meats such as chicken, turkey, salmon, red meats and eggs. If you are a vegetarian many foods such as pasta, couscous, and beans contain protein but not the complete protein with all the needed amino acids. You might want to consider taken protein supplements in order to get the needed amount of protein in your diet.
Protein diets can be a very effective way of improving your lifestyle and maybe even shedding a few pounds. Or if you’re looking to build mass look into a high protein diet in order to build the muscle and connective tissues throughout your body. Either way, make sure you continue to drink plenty of water, avoid excess amounts of sugar, and exercise regularly.
